August Week 3, Year 4

Raw

Match 1. Big Show vs. Jericho

Show hit Jericho with a Final Cut. He then hit the WMD, but Jericho kicked out of the pin. Jericho fought back with a heel kick and a Codebreaker, but Show wouldn't stay down. Two minutes later, Jericho hit a second Codebreaker. Jericho went to pick up Show, but he tripped him and got the win.

Match 2. Wade Barrett vs. Tyson Kidd

Barrett hit Wasteland on Kidd. Jericho ran down and broke up Barrett's pin. Kidd hit a northern lights suplex. Barrett got up and tossed Kidd high in the air and got the 3 count.

Match 3. Bourne and Santino vs. Hardy and Truth

These three men are in contention for Hardy's IC Title. Truth hit Santino with Consequences. Santino recovered and hit Jeff with The Cobra. A couple of minutes later, Jeff got up and hit the Twist of Fate on Santino to win.

Main Event. Hell in a Cell - CM Punk vs. ???

Punk's opponent is Kofi Kingston. I believe he'll fully return next week. Punk had momentum on his side. He hit a back suplex, running dropkick and a tigerbomb back breaker. He then locked Kofi in the Anaconda Vice, but he broke out. It was Kofi's turn on offense as he capped it off with Trouble in Paradise. Punk kicked out of a pin and rolled Kofi up to win.

Smackdown

Match 1. John Cena vs. The Miz

The two men were battling when all of a sudden the arena turned purple. Taker appeared behind Miz and stood at ringside. Miz then hit Cena with a Skull Crushing Finale. Miz landed a DDT and picked Cena back up. Cena caught Miz and hit the AA to win. 

Match 2. JBL vs. Rey Mysterio

JBL has worked out something with the Smackdown GM. If JBL loses, he will retire. However, if he defeats Rey, he will continue working on Smackdown. JBL was dominating Rey. He landed a powerbomb and the Clothesline from Hell. Rey caught JBL in a crucifix pin, but JBL kicked out. After another powerbomb, JBL got the win.

Match 3. Sheamus vs. Cody Rhodes

Cody was heading to the ring when Batista attacked him from behind. After a belly-to-belly, Sheamus locked Cody in the Texas Cloverleaf. Cody got up and hit the Silver Spoon DDT. Cody hit Sheamus over the head with the chair and hit the Alabama Slam. After another SS DDT, Cody got the win.

After the match, Cody left the ring and grabbed a chair. He went to injure Sheamus, but Kofi returned took the chair from Cody. He then turned around and hit Sheamus over the head.

Main Event. Batista vs. Drew McIntyre JBL

Drew came out and introduced JBL as his replacement for Batista. Batista landed a spine buster and went for a pin. JBL kicked out and began his offense. He went for the Clothesline from Hell, but Batista ducked and hit the Batista Bomb to win.

After the match, JBL and Batista brawled at the top of the ramp. They were broken up by referees and officials.

Recap: Smackdown has a crowded main event. It will be interesting to see who faces Taker at the next PPV. Kofi returned and is now heel. Raw is low on faces.
