May Week 1, Year 3

All four of Raw's matches are "remarkable matches."

Raw
Match 1. Christian vs. Shelton
Christian is looking to get back his IC Title. Both men went back and forth, trying to build momentum. Shelton landed his signature t-bone suplex. Christian got up and caught Shelton's leg. He turned him around and hit the Killswitch. He hit another just to make sure and won.

Match 2. 3-on-1 Handicap - Scott Steiner vs. Evolution
It looks like Evolution will do everything they can to make sure Triple H regains his title. The only way Steiner could win is if he dominated Flair the whole time, but that wasn't going to happen. Steiner hit Flair with a running powerslam. Orton and Flair began double teaming Steiner. Batista finally came in and hit the Batista Bomb for the win.

Match 3. The Rock vs. Shawn Michaels
Michaels went to the top rope for a high-risk move, but Rock moved out of the way. Rock hit a Samoan drop then a back suplex. Michaels fought back and landed a suplex. He then put Rocky in the Sharpshooter and made him tap.

Main Event. RVD vs. Goldberg
This is Goldberg's first match after returning from last night's PPV. This match only lasted two minutes. I had no idea how. After a running clothesline, RVD pinned Goldberg to win. Did Goldberg return too early?

After the match, Jericho, Benoit and Christian appeared at the top of the ramp. Jericho signaled that he wants RVD's title.

Smackdown
Match 1. Undertaker vs. Mr. Kennedy
Kennedy was taking it to the champ early. He hit a heel kick to the back of Taker's head and then hit a suplex. Kennedy, later, hit his rolling senton and the Mic Check. He picked the Deadman up for another rolling senton and Mic Check. Kennedy hit a DDT and pinned Taker to win.

Match 2. Rhino vs. Holly
This was a good, mid-card match. It went a little over 10 minutes. Holly held Rhino up for a delayed suplex. The match went to the outside where Holly busted Rhino open with a chair shot. They made it back into the ring. Holly landed the Alabama Slam. Rhino took control and hit a clothesline then a spine buster. He then lined Holly up for the Gore and won.

Match 3. JBL vs. Angle, Rock and Bubba Ray
Bubba Ray is the third partner. I don't know why Rock is on Smackdown when he's signed to Raw. Angle and Rock were working well as a team as they hit a few double team moves on JBL. Bradshaw was able to get in some offense. He hit Bubba with a fall away slam and a suplex. Bubba hit the Death Valley Driver and knocked JBL out.

Main Event. Cena and Edge vs. Lesnar and A-Train
Cena and A-Train went back and forth. Cena landed the AA on A-Train but only got a 2 count. Cena and Edge worked well together as they hit both A-Train and Lesnar with some double team moves. Lesnar woke up and hit Cena with the F5. A-Train got back in the ring and hit Edge with the Train Wreck to win.

Recap: Looks like Raw is heading in the right direction with Evolution and their politics. Benoit turned heel and aligned himself with Christian and Jericho. Two heel factions on Raw should be interesting. Smackdown has a much clearer main event picture with Cena, Lesnar and Kennedy fighting for the #1 spot.
