March Week 1, Year 5



Raw
Match 1. Submission - Ziggler vs. Kofi
Dolph busted Kofi open by smashing his head into the steel post. Ziggler brought him into the ring and it a German suplex and an X-Factor. He then landed the ZigZag. Ziggler continued as he landed the Name Dropper. He ended the match by forcing Kofi to tap out from a sleeper hold.

After the match, Kofi left the arena on a stretcher.

Match 2. Cena vs. Lesnar
Punk ran down and just walked around the ring. Cena hit Lesnar with an AA. Punk then locked Cena in the Anaconda Vice. Lesnar took advantage with an F5. Cena fought back and hit Cena with a suplex and then got the 3 count.

Match 3. Barrett vs. Sheamus
Clay attacked Sheamus on his way to the ring. Barrett connected with a back breaker and a flipping pump handle slam. He then hit a diving elbow from the second rope and finished with Wasteland to win.

After the match, Barrett left the ring, but was stopped by the returning Alberto Del Rio. He attacked Barrett and threw him into the steel steps.

Main Event. Orton vs. Jericho
Orton landed his modified Angle Slam. He then went for an RKO, but Jericho blocked it and connected with a Codebreaker. He hit a nice suplex. Orton threw him into the ropes. Jericho countered and landed a pinning hurricanrana to win.

After the match, Kane attacked Jericho with a lead pipe.

Smackdown
Match 1. Ryback vs. Justin Gabriel
Gabriel held his own against this best. Ryback landed a huge clothesline and then caught Gabriel with Shellshocked. Gabriel kicked out, but that pissed off Ryback some more. He hit another clothesline and finisher to win.

After the match, Kaz, Daniels and Kash all appeared on stage.

Match 2. Triple H vs. Miz
Miz was holding his own weight against the World Champ. Miz connected with the Skull Crushing Finale. Triple H hit Miz with some right hands that busted him open. Miz was able to recover. He landed a back suplex. Triple H came out of nowhere with a spine buster and the Pedigree to win.

Match 3. Austin Aries vs. Bobby Roode
These two, young stars were going back and forth. Roode hit the Pay Off suplex on Aries. A-Double got up and hit Roode with a crucifix. Roode fought back and hit Aries with some right hands. After a bulldog, Roode connected with a huge spine buster. He then locked Aries in a crossface to win.

After the match, Aries was carried away on a stretcher.

Main Event. Angle and Styles vs. Kaz and Daniels
Both teams utilized double team moves very well. Styles hit Kaz with a dropkick. He went for his finisher, but Kaz blocked it and hit the Wave of the Future STO. Kaz continued a few seconds later with a hangman's neck breaker and another Wave of Future. He ended the match with a northern lights suplex with a bridge to win.

Recap: Why are these guys taking over SmackDown? They are definitely making an impact on the WWE. Do injuries always pile up near WrestleMania?
